How to Set Up Google Parental Control (Family Link)?


Step 1: Install the Family Link App


On the parent's phone, install "Google Family Link for parents" app.


On the child’s phone, install "Google Family Link for children & teens" app.



Step 2: Create a Family Group with the Child’s Google Account


Open the Family Link app on the parent’s phone.


Click on “Get Started”.


If your child already has a Google account, add it. If not, create a new one.


The app will guide you on how to connect the child’s device.

Step 3: Connect the Child’s Device


Open the Family Link app on the child’s phone.


Follow the instructions to link the parent’s account.


You will be asked to enter a code that appears on the parent’s phone.


Once the code is entered, both devices will be linked.

Step 4: Set Parental Controls

Using Family Link, parents can:


1. Control Screen Time: Set how many hours the child can use the phone daily.



2. Restrict Apps: Control which apps can be downloaded or used.



3. Google Search Filter: Filter inappropriate content.



4. Location Tracking: See where the child’s phone is located.



5. Remote Lock: Lock the child’s phone remotely.

Important Notes:


If the child is under 13, a parent’s account is required.


The child cannot delete their account without parental permission.
